3000 Richmond Students Welcome the Olympics
A record-setting 3000+ Richmond School District students amassed to perform at the Richmond O-Zone to welcome in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Wearing their bright red and white custom outfits that were generously donated by Lily Pang, a parent of one of our students, our students wonderfully sang or played their instruments in front of the thousands that came out to hear them.
Students from all of our schools have been preparing for months for this special occasion. Our teachers tirelessly worked to teach the students the specially selected music for the Olympics. A selection of band students from all of our secondary schools joined forces to perform together to provide the orchestral backstage for our huge student choir. The band also entertained everyone with a number of excellent pieces of music. Energy and enthusiasm was running high throughout the event.
A big cheer and "Thank You" to the many students and staff that helped to make this event a huge success!
