Bio: Linda McPhail
 
112305_112507_0.jpgLinda McPhail is a lifelong Richmond resident.  Married to husband Terry, they have 3 children - Melissa, Ross and Melanie.

Linda’s school involvement began at the elementary school level and has included being an executive on a Parent Advisory Council and volunteering in various areas within elementary and secondary schools such as fund raising, library, early warning, scholarship committee and dry grad.

Linda was first elected to the Richmond Board of Education in 2002 and is currently Board Chair.

Other school board experience includes: Co-Chair and Chair Personnel & Finance Committee, Career Development Advisory Committee, Career Fair Organizing Committee, Business Advisory Council, Policy Working Group, Council - Board Liaison Committee, Communications Committee, Aboriginal Education Enhancement Committee, Policy Committee, Vice Chair, Education Committee, Audit Committee, representative to the City of Richmond's Sister City Committee, representative to BC Public Schools Employers’ Association, BC School Trustees Association (BCSTA) representative to B.C. School Sports Association, Metropolitan Branch representative to the BCSTA Education Committee, Chairperson, BCSTA Education Committee.

Linda has been active in the Richmond community having served on the board of Seafair Minor Hockey Association for 9 years, the Board of the Richmond Arena's Community Association for 6 years and is currently a member of the Richmond Hospital auxiliary where she has served for the past 19 years.  Last year Linda was a volunteer for the 2009 BC Seniors Games that were held in Richmond.
