Flexible work schedules
Imagine having your summers off, along with several other holidays throughout the year. This can be possible! The majority of our positions in the district run on a 10-month schedule (the same as the schools), allowing you more freedom and time for your family, travel and more!
We also have year-round, 12-month assignments and opportunities for on-call, part time or full time employment.
How we find the best
The Richmond School District takes great care in selecting the best possible individuals to join our team. Our recruitment and selection is competency-based, which means we search for people with the skills, abilities and knowledge that best suit the needs of the position we are looking to fill. We use a number of tools to help us with assessing and selecting the right people.
Skill, Ability & Knowledge Assessment
You may be required to complete one or more of the following assessments:
- Keyboarding
- Data processing
- MS Word/Word processing
- Reading/Writing
- Basic Math
- Bookkeeping
- Excel
- Job-specific knowledge
The Behavioural Interview
In order to help us further explore the knowledge, skills and abilities you have to offer, we conduct behavioural interviews, which are based on the premise that past behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviour.
Your interviewer(s) will ask you a series of planned questions related to predetermined selection criteria. You will be required to provide specific behavioural examples from your past work experiences by sharing with us the situation, how you handled it and the result or outcome of your actions.
