The SD38 Career Programs Office offers many types of engaging opportunities for students to explore while they are in high school. Their key programs are:
Youth Train in Trades (16 post-secondary trades programs)
- earn level 1 technical training in a trade while in high school
- free program tuition
- earn high school, post-secondary credits and Industry Training Authority credentials
- earning potential right out of high school
- we partner with BCIT, VCC, KPU, Piping Industry College and Finishing Trades Institute
Youth Work in Trades
- earn high school credits for your paid apprenticeship in any BC trade
- qualify for a $1000 Ministry of Education award
- Career Programs staff support throughout program
Other Programs
- Policing
- Skilled Trades Exploration Program (STEP) - work with SD38 tradespeople for a week
- LinK38 - take one post-secondary course toward your degree while in high school
