Non-Catchment School Transfer Applications



Where are transfer forms available and how are they submitted?

In January 2019, forms will be available on-line, at school offices or at the Central Registration Office. Once completed, transfer forms must be dropped off in-person to the requested school(s).

What criteria are used when considering transfer applications?

Students who apply for a transfer by February 28, 2019, 3:00 p.m. will be considered in the following priority order:

1. Sibling of a Richmond Resident student who will be attending the requested school and program for the 2019/20 school year.
2. Return to catchment students who were placed by the district in another school within the last 3 years.
3. Sibling of a Non-Richmond Resident who will be attending the requested school and program for the 2019/20 school year.
4a. Elementary – Daycare (address and confirmation of daycare arrangements may be requested).
4b. Secondary - Grade 7 Cohort.
5. Extenuating circumstances warranting special considerations.

Students who apply for a Transfer March 1, 2019 or later will be considered for admission to a school only if they meet one of the following criteria:

1. Sibling of a Richmond Resident student who will be attending the requested school and program for the 2019/20 school year.
2. Elementary - Daycare (address and confirmation of daycare arrangements may be requested).
3. Extenuating circumstances warranting special considerations.
4. Continuing Non-Richmond Resident student.
