Non-Catchment School Transfer Applications
Students must currently be registered in the Richmond School District to complete a transfer application.

Where are transfer application forms available and how are they submitted?

Application forms will be available online, at school offices or at the Central Registration Office.​ Once completed, transfer application forms must be dropped off in-person to the requested school(s). The Round 1 transfer application period is from February 10 - 28, 2020. The first day completed transfer forms can be dropped off at requested schools is February 10, 2020. The deadline for Round 1 transfer applications is February 28, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

What criteria are used when considering transfer applications?

Students who apply for a transfer will be considered in the following priority order:

1. Sibling of a Richmond Resident student who will be attending the requested school and program for the 2020/21 school year.
2. Sibling of a Non-Richmond Resident who will be attending the requested school and program for the 2020/21 school year.
3a. Elementary – Daycare (address and confirmation of daycare arrangements may be requested).
3b. Secondary - Grade 7 Cohort.
4. Extenuating circumstances.

How can I complete a Transfer Complaint Form?

If you would like a transfer decision reviewed by the Office of the Deputy Superintendent you may submit a completed Transfer Complaint Form by email to or in person at 7811 Granville Avenue, Richmond, B.C.
